Australand Agriculture Pty Ltd is an established Quality Agricultural Products retailer based in Wangara Western Australia, in the business of - fertilisers, irrigation products, equipment and crop protection products that help serve and help our local farmers grow.
We are seeking a bright and motivated individual, to take on a dynamic dual role in Bookkeeping and Procurement. This role requires excellent communication skills, high-level Excel competence, and strong negotiation abilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for all bookkeeping activities of the business to maintain accurate financial records in Xero as well as managing procurement and ordering all supplies.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Confident bookkeeper, Minimum 3-4 years of experience (knowledge of Xero preferable)
  • Advanced bookkeeping skills dealing with multi-currency transactions
  • Negotiation skills and attitude
  • High-level Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data entry)
  • Excellent English communication (written and spoken), time management and organisational skills
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask and to establish internal and external relationships with suppliers
  • Positive “can-do” attitude and ethical work approach
  • Willingness to learn, improve and grow with the role
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities
  • A current driver’s license

Responsibilities
  • Enter and reconcile bills and expenses in Xero
  • Liaise with external accountant as required
  • Keeping a very tidy, soft copy and hard copy filing system
  • Filing quarterly BAS
  • Recording timesheets and preparation of the payroll files
  • Following up on accounts receivable by phone, or email as required
  • Managing timely payment of accounts payable
  • Manage end-to-end purchasing for fertilisers, chemicals, tools, and accessories
  • Communicate professionally with suppliers via email and phone
  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules
  • Preparing stock-level forecasts and assist with inventory control
  • Source new suppliers and support cost-saving initiatives
  • Assist with month-end reporting and document management
