JOB DESCRIPTION

Are you passionate about numbers and looking to make a meaningful contribution to a vibrant educational community? St. James & St. Ann’s Elementary, a welcoming and supportive Catholic school, is seeking a dedicated Part-time Bookkeeper to join our team. This position will be a .50 FTE. Days of employment are flexible.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in bookkeeping and payroll management is preferred. Preference will be given to applicants with experience working in a Catholic School setting
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities
  • Manage payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Prepare and distribute T4s and Records of Employment (ROEs)
  • Handle Electronic Funds Transfers (EFT) for incoming payments
  • Assist in budget preparation and financial planning
  • Issue income tax receipts to donors and families
  • Administer Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) claims and reporting
  • Manage Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Employer Health Tax (EHT) submissions
  • Perform month-end and year-end financial closing activities
  • Support the annual financial audit process
