We are looking for a multi-tasker with excellent communication skills and an upbeat attitude, providing polite and professional assistance to our staff and members via phone and email, and generally being a helpful and positive presence in the workplace. This is an IN PERSON position only.
To be successful as our Bookkeeping Assistant, candidates should be very detail oriented and highly accurate while also being professional, polite and attentive . They should always be prepared and responsive, willing to meet each challenge directly. The Bookkeeping Assistant must be skilled with PC computers, comfortable working with QuickBooks, Excel, and Gmail and be able to learn our operations software, ShulCloud.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Attention to detail and accuracy is of utmost importance
· Experience in basic bookkeeping and a willingness to learn
· Computer skills: proficiency in applications including QuickBooks, Excel, and Gmail
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to set and re-set priorities and multi-task effectively and independently in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment
· Self-motivated and organized
· Familiarity with Jewish religious and cultural customs are helpful but not required
· Matching incoming bills to packing slips and/or purchase orders, verifying pricing and quantity
· Processing all Accounts Payable, coding each expense and entering in QuickBooks
· Mailing out A/P checks once prepared and signed
· Filing paid bills
· Assisting with billing our members during high volume periods as needed
· Creating ad hoc reports/spreadsheets as needed
- Responding to calls and emails from our members in a timely and friendly manner
