Job Details Job Location: Bloomfield Store - Bloomfield, CT Position Type: Part Time Salary Range: $16.35 - $19.00 Hourly Job Shift: Any Description Summary: This position will provide prompt, friendly, reliable service and assistance to customers at the checkstand, creating a unique and satisfying shopping experience that will exceed their expectations. Ability to operate cash register Ability to stand for extended periods of time Good mathematical skills Qualifications Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Performs duties in a safe and efficient manner, consistent with stores safety policies and procedures. Recognizes and follows all cashier policies and procedures. Reports promptly to work station at beginning of shift, and following lunch and break. Operates cash register to itemize and total customers purchases. Reviews price sheets to note price changes and sale items. Acknowledges, greets, and projects a positive attitude, and thanks each customer. Handles groceries with extreme care, quickly separates and groups like items. Has competency in all aspects of bagging. Collects cash, check, or charge payment from customer and tenders accurate change in accordance with store policy and procedures. Handles damaged or spoiled products and return-to-stock (go-backs) according to front-end and store procedures. Performs price checks as needed. Effectively handles customer complaints and contacts a manager when necessary. Assists with cleanup of spills, breakages, and other maintenance duties at the checkstand area. Participates in training activities to increase personal skill levels, and improve overall department processes and customer service. Maintains an organized and clean work area, cleans belt and register regularly. Performs other duties as assigned by the department head or other management personnel. Meets the physical requirements to perform the job functions listed above. Provides light supervision and training of other associates when assigned. Performs ID checks when ringing alcoholic beverages and cigarettes.
