Job Title: Project Support Worker
Location: Volunteer Centre, Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde
Hours: 16 Hours per week
Salary: £23,656 gross per annum pro rata (£10,229.62 gross per annum based on
16hrs per week)
Contract Type: Fixed term until 31st March 2026
Reports to: Project Lead
About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and community-focused individual to join our Borrow It
team as a Project Support Worker. This role is key to raising awareness of Borrow
It, promoting the project, and ensuring our community knows about and accesses
the services we offer.
You will be the face of the project at local events, helping build strong community
relationships and encouraging participation. If you’re enthusiastic, outgoing, and
committed to making a difference, we’d love to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
Attend and represent the project at promotional and networking events,
both within the local area and occasionally further afield.
Handle enquiries from the public in person, by phone, email, and social
media.
Actively promote the Borrow It project, including its aims, benefits, and how
the community can get involved.
Develop and distribute promotional materials, working closely with the
business support manager where applicable.
Use a variety of advertising channels (social media, newsletters, posters,
community boards) to raise the profile of the project.
Build and maintain strong relationships with local organisations, community
groups, and stakeholders.
Help organise and deliver community outreach sessions, workshops, and
engagement activities.
Collect feedback and help evaluate the impact of the project.
Support other team members and volunteers as required.
Person Specification
Essential:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience in community engagement or outreach work.
Confident in public speaking and engaging diverse groups.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Flexible, proactive, and approachable.
Basic IT skills and familiarity with social media platforms.
Be able to travel independently locally.
Desirable:
Experience working or volunteering in the community/charity sector.
Knowledge of sustainability and circular economy principles.
