Job Description Position Summary The Retail Manager is responsible for driving commercial success, operational excellence, and people development across assigned boutiques. This role ensures sales targets are achieved, the retail network is expanded, and the brand’s image and standards are consistently upheld through strong leadership and stakeholder collaboration. Key Responsibilities Commercial & Business Development Drive boutique sales performance by planning and executing initiatives, including in-store events, to achieve sales budgets. Manage sales forecasts and actual results to ensure alignment with overall business objectives. Expand the retail network and sales channels to capture growth opportunities. Analyze competitor activities and market trends to identify business insights and opportunities. Retail Excellence & Operations Strengthen boutique sales operations by standardizing processes and elevating staff selling capabilities. Oversee daily boutique operations to ensure smooth execution, resolving product incidents and customer claims effectively. Foster strong partnerships with department store stakeholders (e.g., Gaisho, Sales Department) through proactive proposals and negotiations that support boutique success. People Development & Talent Management Collaborate with the training team to design and implement development plans for boutique managers and assistant managers. Recruit, onboard, and manage boutique staff while ensuring compliance with labor regulations. Identify and develop high-potential talent through career interviews, implementing long-term training, retention, and growth strategies. Coach and mentor boutique managers by providing guidance, feedback, and support to strengthen leadership capabilities. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement Coordinate with HQ and regional stakeholders to align strategies, processes, and retail priorities. Facilitate effective communication between boutiques, corporate functions, and external partners to support seamless business execution. Qualifications Lead and demonstrate the “One Team” culture Minimum 5 years of experience in the luxury industry with a strong understanding of luxury retail. Proven ability to negotiate effectively with department stores and key business partners. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, build accurate forecasts, and develop strategic plans through logical and structured thinking. Entrepreneurial mindset combined with a collaborative spirit; demonstrates enthusiasm, confidence, and self-motivation. High level of professionalism, reliability, and commitment to compliance and company policies. Flexible and creative in approach, with the ability to work independently while proposing innovative ideas and solutions. Solid IT literacy and the ability to quickly learn new systems and applications required for daily operations. Excellent communication skills in Japanese and business-level proficiency in English.
