About the Role Routesetters are responsible for bringing Bouldering Project’s vision of a best-in-class climbing experience to life. The role demands creativity, collaboration, professionalism, and a strong passion for climbing. Boulderfest is the Bouldering Project's yearly competition series and demands the highest tier of routesetting possible. This position is a temporary role to set for SLC's Boulderfest. The role will be 40 hours of work between the days 9/14 - 9/19. What You’ll Do Job duties may include, but are not limited to: Set and forerun 3–6 boulder problems per setting day, depending on level and experience Contribute to team forerunning and collaborative setting feedback sessions Support wall maintenance in hold stripping and cleaning Maintain a clean, safe, and organized setting space and tools Execute tasks assigned by the Head Setter and maintain strong professional relationships with staff and team members Interact with guests and positively represent Bouldering Project in the community Uphold quality, safety, and inclusivity standards in all route design and execution Participate in community engagement through events and interactions Other duties as assigned Requirements What You’ll Bring Required Qualifications 3+ years of climbing experience 2+ years of commercial setting experience Ability to climb V6 in a variety of styles comfortably Strong teamwork, communication, and feedback skills Passion for climbing and building inclusive communities Ability to move 50 lbs on soft flooring and work on ladders or at height Preferred Qualifications Experience setting circuits and/or for events USAC Routesetting certification Working at Bouldering Project At Bouldering Project, we aim to cultivate excitement for movement, belonging, and community.
