JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Retail Sales Associate to join our team. Our shop is unique in offering low cost essential items plus further social supprt to Harlow people in hardship.
We achieve this through picking up short life fresh items, bulk buying and selling at low profit, operating a no-frills shop in premises donated to us at little cost, and using volunteers as part of our workforce.
This is a job for someone who finds that idea exciting, and can relate to people from all backgrounds without prejudice.

EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience in retail and customer service is preferred.
• Strong organisational skills to maintain an orderly environment.
• Experience of managing volunteers or work in the voluntary sector a bonus.

• Greet customers warmly and provide assistance in a friendly manner.
• Maintain an organised and visually appealing sales floor through working alongside volunteers who will sometimes need your direction and support.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills to understand customer needs and provide guidance on services.
• Handle transactions accurately using basic maths skills for cash handling.
• Manage time efficiently to ensure all tasks are completed within the working hours.
• Support customers who may have learning or language difficulties.
• Engage in upselling techniques to enhance customer purchases and improve overall sales performance.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve goals and maintain high standards of customer service.
