Description

The Box Crater, Jr. will assist the Box Crater, Sr. in creating and assembling custom packaging for manufactured products. This role uses various materials and tools to ensure that items are securely packaged for shipping and storage. The Box Crater, Jr. works under the guidance of the shipping supervisor and collaborates with other team members to meet production goals and quality standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to do basic math and use a tape measure down to an eighth of an inch.
  • Read and comprehend simple written and verbal instructions and work in a team environment.
  • Basic hand and power tools knowledge, including saws, nail guns, and drills.
  • Understanding of OSHA and environmental regulations

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • Overhead crane and lift truck experience preferred.
  • 13 years of experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or construction environment preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Ability to read detailed production instructions, processes, and procedures.
  • Communicate and work closely with supervisors and other team members to achieve production targets and deadlines.
  • Ability to safely operate an overhead crane and lift truck.
  • Assist in constructing and assembling wooden crates, boxes, and other packaging solutions. Including proper packing materials to prevent damage during transit.
  • Measure, cut, and assemble materials such as wood, foam, and cardboard using hand, power, and machinery tools, including saws, nail guns, and drills, safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain and care for tools and equipment. Identify and report any defects or issues in materials or equipment.
  • Inspect finished crates and packaging to meet company standards and customer requirements.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory of packaging materials and supplies. Inform the shipping supervisor of any low stock level that needs to be reordered.
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
