Closing: 12/19/2025 Salary: $16.94 hourly rate Job Summary: The City of Largo is seeking a Part Time customer service–oriented individual to join our team as a Box Office Assistant at the Central Park Performing Arts Center. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with the public, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has a flexible schedule. As a Box Office Assistant, you will be responsible for working in the ticket booth, assisting patrons with ticket purchases, and providing exceptional customer service. Familiarity with show schedules and ticketing systems is a plus, and training will be provided on our computer programs. Work Schedule: Hours and shifts for this position vary weekly and will include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Assignments are determined based on bookings and scheduled events. EVENT ASSISTANT SUMMARY Work in this class involves implementing, planning, and participating in one or more activities supporting rentals and performances at the Central Park Performing Arts Center. This will include event setup, house management, and box office operations. The position receives direction from the Central Park Performing Arts Center Manager and assigned Supervisors. WORK SCHEDULE: Hours and shifts for this position vary from week to week and include days, weekends, evenings, and holidays. ASSIGNMENT: The schedule is determined weekly based on bookings and the schedule of events. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: All employees share components of leadership, management, technical, and team skills to assist in making the City of Largo the community of choice in Tampa Bay. EMERGENCY RESPONSE STATUS: As a condition of employment, City of Largo employees will be required to work as directed during an undeclared and/or a declared emergency. All employees are subject to recall around the clock for emergency response operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the normal work location, and may include duties other than those specified in the official job description. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: Must be 18 years or older and have at least one year of experience in retail, hotel/restaurant, event planning, box office, or a closely related field Must be certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillators (AED) within six months of hire Valid Driver's License Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of procedures, techniques, and technology required for a variety of box office and event facilitation activities Must have leadership ability; ability to give and receive oral and written communications Ability to work well with the public and communicate with people tactfully and diplomatically Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Must have computer, telephone, and cash handling experience Ability to do light to heavy manual work WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Work Environment: 80% inside a climate-controlled building; 20% outside, which may include driving. Depending on assignment, work environments may vary significantly. Physical Requirements: The essential functions of the job require sitting approximately two (2) hours per day, standing approximately four (4) hours per day, and walking approximately two (2) hours per day. The work often requires bending/stooping, climbing, crawling, fine manipulations, grasping, kneeling, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, lifting/carrying objects weighing up to and over 45 pounds. Sensory Requirements: Hearing: Ability to understand what others are saying in normal conversation in person and on the telephone. Speaking: Ability to communicate orally with others in person and on the phone. Seeing: Ability to see and read computer monitor screens and supervise events. Driving Requirements: Requires occasional driving and possession of a valid Florida Driver's License. Technology: The work requires the ability to operate telephones, smartphones, tablets, photocopiers, printers, desktop and/or laptop computers, calculators, cash machines, ticketing equipment, and all associated software.
