The Box Office Associate is a front-line, full-time, non-exempt position that is responsible for selling tickets and subscriptions for Boston Ballet performances and for providing excellent customer service and accurate information to all patrons. Essential Functions Process tickets, subscriptions, exchanges, comps, group sales, refunds, donations, and gift cards using Tessitura (Boston Ballet’s customer relation management database) Balance and reconcile sales/exchange activities daily Receive and respond to inbound messages with a high level of customer service and a focus on being friendly, and patient with a strong ability to problem solve difficult situations Maintain a high level of performance knowledge to speak with patrons about the season repertoire Responsible for staying organized and aware of Box Office policies and general Boston Ballet information Assist in maintaining the integrity of the database Participate in outbound calling campaigns, as directed by the Box Office Manager Assist in opening the Box Office at the administrative office and the Citizens Opera House Responsible for working at the theatre in the Box Office during performance weeks Perform various administrative tasks Please be sure to include a cover letter with your resume when you submit an application to be considered for the position. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in sales and customer service Strong customer service skills; professional, enthusiastic, and accurate with numbers and details Flexible, positive attitude with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced and collaborative environment Computer skills with ability to use Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word; experience with Tessitura a plus Enthusiasm to contribute to a work environment that strives for diversity, equity, and inclusion Boston Ballet offers hybrid work options. This range is a reasonable, good faith estimate of the expected hourly pay range for this position at this time, based on a wide range of factors, including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs, and other considerations permitted by law.
