Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of foundation brake components from initial concept through to production launch.
  • Define component requirements aligned with vehicle performance targets and oversee validation processes.
  • Deliver high-quality designs at both system and component levels, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional internal teams and external suppliers to creatively and efficiently integrate various systems.
  • Plan and coordinate both virtual simulations and physical validation testing for brake systems.
  • Successfully manage multiple complex projects in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the automotive industry, specializing in brake system design.
  • Demonstrated success in taking brake components from initial concept through to full-scale production
  • Strong proficiency in 3D CAD modeling
  • Hands-on experience with prototype assembly
  • Involved in technology assessment, system design, and supplier selection
  • Knowledge of design release processes, change control, and project management
  • Willingness and ability to travel both domestically and internationally
  • Proven hands-on problem-solving skills
  • Direct experience with brake system components such as calipers, rotors, shields, wheel-end hoses, and wiring harnesses
  • Proficient in CATIA V6 and 3DX PLM tools
  • Background in project management and structured technical problem-solving methodologies
  • Understanding of NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) fundamentals
  • Familiarity with CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) analysis tools
  • Experience in developing and tuning vehicle performance attributes
  • Knowledge of automotive mechatronics and control theory

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (BS/BEng or MS/MEng) in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related discipline — or equivalent practical experience
