JOB DESCRIPTION

James Hargreaves is amongst the largest independent plumber’s merchants in the UK. We are a family run business with big ambitions to expand our branch network. Due to expansion we require motivated people to add to our already formidable team. We are looking to recruit a Trade Counter Branch Assistant to work at our Lancaster branch. The successful applicant will be working as part of a dynamic, motivated and friendly team.
The Main role would be to serve Trade & Retail customers on the counter. Help the driver to pick and load the vehicle & get any other deliveries out ready for the next deliveries. There will be general warehouse work and lifting.

Experience:

• driving: 1 year (required

• Covering deliveries when required in company transit van, this would mainly be when staff on holiday or at busy periods. Picking & Loading deliveries, delivering to Tradespeople, sites & general public houses. Assisting the main driver to load and pick jobs.
• Serving customers on the trade counter and providing excellent customer service & knowledge.
• Goods in/out responsibilities
• Liaising with suppliers
• General warehouse duties
• Processing orders
• Customer order picking
• Dealing with telephone enquiries
• Preparing customer quotations

Requirements for the role

• Positive attitude and great work ethic
• Full UK driving licence (Required)
• Ability to work under pressure
• Flexible
• Self motivated
• Initiative and problem-solving abilities
• Basic numeracy and literacy
• Willingness to learn and experience all aspects of the business within the branch.
