Branch Management is principally responsible to ensure BJBS operates within risk appetite of the Bank and local regulations, supported by 1LOD and 2LOD. The Branch Business Manager supports Singapore Branch Management Office in all location management and governance matters, including managing and supporting branch-wide initiatives related to risks, compliance and culture. The individual is expected to work closely with the Branch Management, Business, Front Business Management, Business Risk Management (BRM), CRO functions, and also Hong Kong Branch if required. This individual’s primary responsibilities include identifying emerging risks, proactively addressing these risks, enhancing the effectiveness of control frameworks, and managing branch initiatives, primarily focused on Front Office. YOUR CHALLENGE KEY FEATURES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES Branch Business Management Act as an independent trusted risk advisor to Branch Management, assessing risk issues and clearly present risks to facilitate decision-making Support the setup, operation and maintenance of an effective risk management framework for the Branch, in close collaboration with various stakeholders in Business, BRM or CRO functions Support Branch Management in branch-wide projects and initiatives that drive positive risk culture and enhanced control framework, while ensuring front office considerations are taken into when steering initiatives Serves as the primary liaison for matters concerning front, conducting impact assessments, managing communications, ensuring operational considerations are addressed, and maintaining an appropriate balance between commercial objectives and risk management. Collaborate with other branch units to address issues impacting the front, including client-related incidents, platform system stability, client complaints, and procedural inefficiency Drive a positive risk culture and awareness throughout the Branch, including delivering trainings Drive key strategic and operational initiatives within the front office, acting as a conduit between front and control/support units (Risk, Compliance, Operations, Technology). Ensure business growth objectives are achieved while maintaining an appropriate balance with regulatory requirements, risk appetite, and operational resilience. Regulatory Responsibilities and Risk Management Demonstration of appropriate values and behaviours including but not limited to standards on honesty and integrity, due care and diligence, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, adequate risk management, and compliance with applicable policies, laws and regulations. YOUR PROFILE SKILLS REQUIREMENTS Personal and Social Driven and passionate to make a positive change in the organization Well organized and able to manage a multitude of topics Solution oriented, considering both business value and risk mitigation Strong stakeholder management skills Strong communication skills (oral and written) Excellent interpersonal skills – team player Strong empathy for people and all cultural backgrounds. Professional and Technical University degree or equivalent education in Banking and/or Finance More than 5 years of relevant working experience in financial industry, preferably in Private Banking risk management, compliance, or internal audit Ability to organize content, deliver ideas and recommendations in a clear and structured manner Strong understanding Private Banking business and the regulatory requirements in Singapore Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Strong negotiation skills and ability to integrate different positions into viable tasks and/or actions.
