Description SFSB is a mutually owned, community centered organization dedicated to providing financial products and services, financial education, and qualified volunteers to support the communities in which our banking centers are located. This position requires a positive leadership style with an all-inclusive mindset. The Branch Manager must also be able to identify and develop every team member’s strengths, effectively communicate constructive feedback, and provide resources and training to ensure team members are prepared to meet customer expectations. As a leader/coach, the manager will schedule consistent, one on one coaching sessions with team members to provide an opportunity to discuss successes, struggles and progress towards meeting retail sales goals. The Branch Manager sets the standard of expectation by successfully modeling the ability to have needs-based conversations with customers to identify and make appropriate product and service recommendations to develop relationships and cultivate a sustainable customer base that will increase market share. In addition, the Branch Manager must possess a knowledge of the bank policies and procedures to ensure the operations of the branch follow federal and state regulations. Depending on the number of team members, the Branch Manager will also be required to either conduct the BAM duties in his/her absence or perform the duties as part of the Branch Manager’s normal routine. Specific Job Functions: Strategic Objectives Reviews, executes, and practices objectives within SFSB’s Strategic Plan. Realize and support strategies developed through strategic thinking process and integrate these back into the branch goals. Branch Growth Develops branch goals and budgets to aid in meeting profitability standards. Utilizes branch income and financial statements to improve performance and implement plans for meeting branch goals. Actively promote commercial and consumer loan growth by identifying potential markets and developing strategies to secure new business and expand on the existing customer base. Acts on all potential leads that are presented in a timely manner. Reviews lists, records, newspapers, etc., for business development leads. Solicits commercial deposit accounts and cash management relationships from new and existing customers. Building customer Relationships Participates in activities for generating new business such as sales calls and special events. Promotes a favorable image of the bank in all business activities within the community. Make calls on existing customers to expand their utilization of the bank’s products and services and to express appreciation for those products and services being used. Takes personal ownership of any customer problems to see that they are resolved. Attends to the needs of customers and prospective customers on banking matters of the following types: Signs such items as Official Checks. Provides notary services. Authorizes the cashing of non-routine checks. Approves checks exceeding CRM’s authority. Handles customer complaints related to the Bank’s services, explains service charges, and follows through on misdirected items or errors. Greet customers by name, use name in conversation. Respond to customer inquiries within 24 hours, within one hour if it is an emergency. Performs CRM duties when needed following CRM Job Description, including recommending, explaining, and opening new deposit and loan accounts, (to maintain skills learned, teller work required at least monthly) Ensures ongoing sales, service, and products knowledge training within branch. Responsible for knowing and cross-selling bank products to help the customer obtain their financial goals. Work to improve overall customer Xperience with team. Utilizes SFSB’s customer service relationship management software. Communication Interacts regularly with the Executive Team to ensure that the branches operational priorities are aligned with the total Bank’s direction. Is responsible for assisting in the preparation and conducting the Monthly Retail Strategy Meetings. Reports at Monthly Branch Manager Meetings. Participates in Branch huddles and Weekly Cultivate Performance Growth Meetings. Communicates with Branch staff daily unless on PTO. Documents calls in Synapsys and presents monthly call report to Manager. Communicates approvals or denials to the borrower, real estate agent or builder. Compliance Review major loan requests, as defined by the loan policies, with directives for the consideration and approval or rejection. Responsible for knowing and complying with all Bank policies and procedures that apply to the position. Responsible for knowing and complying with all Federal Regulations and bank policies/procedures that apply to position, including, but not limited to: Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Customer Identification Program (CIP), Funds Availability (Reg CC) and Currency Transaction Reporting (CTR). Reviews new accounts for compliance, accuracy, and completeness. Supervision Assigns duties and determines work schedule for BAM. Establishes and helps to attain internal performance objectives for the BAM. Develops and directs the BAM and assist in developing and directing the CRMs. Meets with each direct report at least monthly to review Cultivate check-in, and conduct retail/business sales certifications. Prepares and conducts annual direct report’s evaluations. Conducts Paylocity duties, direct report’s schedules, timecard adjustments, approves/denies PTO request, approves timecards in a timely manner. Recommends hiring, discipline, promotion, transfer, and termination of staff. Responsible for ensuring staff is trained in all area specified within each employee’s job responsibilities (Job Description | Development Plan). Security and Building Maintenance Responsible for daily oversight of branch security, including but not limited to opening and closing of the branch, making security checks and proper maintenance of the facility, following SFSB’s Security Program, Procedures, and Forms, refers to the Security Officer for guidance and direction if needed. Responsible for daily oversight of branch office supplies, building repairs and maintenance following SFSB’s Purchasing and Asset Capitalization Policy, Procedures, and Forms; refers to the Bank’s Maintenance Manager for guidance and direction if needed. Advertising and Marketing Work with Marketing Specialist for budging & approving branch advertising, marketing, customer relations, sponsorships, and donations using the Branch Balance Sheet and following SFSB’s Advertising Policy, Procedures, and Forms. Retail Loan Originations Meets with loan prospects to determine needs and recommend best products. Complete loan applications. Collect required documentation form customer (this is based on the type of loan, as well as the discretion of the underwriter.) Assists in collecting, scanning, and forwarding customer documentation to Loan Processors. Attend SFSB training regimen for regulatory and procedural guidelines for Loan Originations. Maintain licensing requirements for NMLS and SAFE Act administration. Additional responsibilities Participates on SFSB’s assigned committees. Coordinates PTO days with Branch staff to ensure Branch is accurately staffed. Answer phone and Banno chats as needed. Vault duties following the vault procedures as needed, but at least monthly. Assist BAM with the Branch Audits as needed. Performs other duties as directed by supervisor. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in business/organizational management preferred but not required. Successful completion of in-house training programs. Minimum two years’ experience in banking or the financial industry. Comprehensive knowledge of new accounts operations. Comprehensive knowledge of consumer lending. Supervision/leadership knowledge and/or experience. Basic math and problem-solving skills. Good understanding of financial products and services. Exceptional customer service and professional skills. Strong organizational, telephone, and communication skills. Ability to multi-task, work independently, delegate, and make decisions. Average computer and keyboard skills including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Team Player Valid driver's license
