ABOUT THE ROLE

Are you a dynamic, people-first leader passionate about public service, community engagement, and preserving local history? Clermont County Public Library is seeking a forward-thinking Branch Manager / Supervisor II to lead the Batavia and Williamsburg branches. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape and expand library services in two vibrant communities while supporting lifelong learning and community connections.
Primarily based at our Batavia branch, you will oversee daily operations and coordinate closely with the Williamsburg Supervisor to effectively lead the staff at both branches. Your leadership will be critical in managing staff, developing impactful programs, fostering community partnerships, and supporting genealogical services. You will champion a welcoming and inclusive environment, ensuring excellent service delivery across all ages.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage operations at both branches in partnership with branch supervisor, ensuring smooth workflows, scheduling, and service excellence.
  • Lead, inspire, and develop dedicated teams through effective hiring, supervision, coaching, training, and performance management.
  • Drive community engagement by developing impactful programs, forging strategic partnerships, and representing the library at local events and meetings.
  • Ensure the delivery of exceptional, guest-focused services that foster a welcoming and inclusive environment.
  • Champion a positive workplace culture through clear communication, collaboration, and setting clear expectations.
  • Coordinate and oversee programming for all ages including effective program evaluation, ensuring alignment with community needs and Library goals.
  • Interpret and communicate library policies and procedures to staff and guests, promoting understanding and ensuring consistent adherence.
  • Oversee collection management, including weeding, processing donations, and collaborating with Collection Services on acquisitions.
  • Mentor staff, identify development opportunities, and support professional growth
  • Ensure a safe and well-maintained environment for guests and staff.
  • Participate actively in system-wide initiatives, committees, and planning to advance library services, supporting strategic goals and cross-branch collaboration.
  • Monitor statistics and programming budgets; maintain accurate records including payroll, leave requests, and reimbursements with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Contribute to library policy and procedure updates, strategic planning, and service enhancements.
  • Lead the Library’s genealogical services, working closely with the Clermont County Genealogical Society, providing training and research assistance via various communication channels
