ABOUT THE POSITION

The Branch President will oversee a branch with the goal of supporting the end-to-end life cycle of developing relationships with new customers and curating freight services to meet the needs of the business. This role will lead a branch that is multi-faceted, working closely with carrier partners to meet customer demands. The Branch President will coach, train, and develop the branch’s customer and carrier facing teams and be responsible for helping the team meet established operational and financial expectations. The ideal candidate will have several years of experience leading high-performing sales or operational teams.

  • Develop and implement a strategic vision for regional agent development aligned with the company’s business goals of increasing branch load/revenue growth.
  • Leverage knowledge and experience to provide coaching and direction to sales and operations personnel to grow revenue and profit through high-end sales pursuits and operational execution
  • Manage branches P&L, leveraging opportunities to find cost effective efficiency gains while driving growth
  • Support talent acquisition by interviewing, providing feedback, and adding qualified talent to the branch when needed
  • Train, develop, and manage Account Managers and Carrier Account Managers
  • Maintain a whatever it takes mentality to step into any facet of the business to meet customer demands
  • Interact and build relationships with customers to act as a point of escalation and ensure layers of relationships while uncovering opportunities to meet customer needs
  • Support weekly team meetings and monthly reviews to effectively drive performance in meeting expectations, collaborate on strategy, and identify actions for improvement, as well as seeking feedback on how we can better support them
  • Communicate clear expectations to Sales and Operations personnel and document if/when expectations aren’t met
  • Act as main point of contact for all personnel management functions (promotional, disciplinary, monthly/yearly reviews, etc.)
  • Provide direction to team to ensure the prioritization of most urgent tasks we need them focused on (load coverage, track and trace, etc.)
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and grow sales and operations teams
  • Demonstrated ability in strategic sales
  • Freight Brokerage experience of 3-5 years
  • Strong ability to lead teams in customer service, communication, negotiation, and closing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to excel within a collaborative sales environment
