Quanterm Logistics is on the lookout for a hands-on, operationally driven Branch/State Manager to lead our Sydney team.
This is a hands-on leadership role that requires a seasoned logistics professional who can drive operational excellence while building and maintaining strong client relationships. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Minimum 5-10+ years’ experience in international freight operations
  • Previous management experience with P&L responsibility in logisitics/freight forwarding
  • Understanding & experienced in LCL consolidation
  • Demonstrated success in team leadership and branch operations
  • Practical understanding of freight systems, with CargoWise experience strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Australian customs procedures and international trade regulations
  • A hands-on, accountable approach with strong organisational and people management skills
  • Strategic thinking and commercial acumen — you are client-first and growth-minded
  • Excellent communication skills and a team player mindset

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will oversee the full spectrum of branch activity — from air & sea freight, including sea freight consolidation customer service, and customs coordination, through to team leadership and profit & loss accountability. This role requires a confident leader who understands freight at a practical level and is not afraid to roll up their sleeves to get things done.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operational Leadership: Oversee the daily operations of the Sydney branch, ensuring efficient and compliant freight forwarding services across air freight, sea freight, and logistics services.
  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team across customer service, operations, and administration, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
  • Customer & Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for key clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, building strong relationships and resolving operational issues promptly.
  • Performance & Compliance: Monitor and report on branch KPIs, financial performance, and compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for operational enhancements, cost savings, and service improvements, implementing best practices across the branch.
  • Business Development: Support sales and business development initiatives to drive growth and expand our client base.
