JOB TITLE: Marketing Consultant TYPE OF CONTRACT:Regular Consultant-Short Term UNIT/DIVISION: ShareTheMeal Initiative, PSP DUTY STATION (City, Country):Berlin / Remote DURATION:11 months LINE MANAGER : Global Content Strategy & Operations Lead BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT: The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate. WFP is the world’s largest humanitarian organization, saving lives in emergencies and using food assistance to build a pathway to peace, stability and prosperity for people recovering from conflict, disasters and the impact of climate change. Around 20,000 people work for the organization, most of them in remote areas, directly serving the hungry poor. ShareTheMeal is WFP’s fundraising and awareness-raising app. Free to download, the award- winning app is a pioneering way for people to join our efforts in creating a world with zero hunger. ShareTheMeal was launched in 2015 as the first pilot of WFP’s Innovation Accelerator and is part of WFP’s Innovation and Knowledge Management Division, which among other things supports start-ups and innovators in developing their ideas for zero hunger. ShareTheMeal currently has more than 9,3 million users worldwide, who have shared more than 160million meals (US$ 100 million). WFP is pursuing an ambitious growth strategy for individual giving, andShareTheMeal is a key driver for this strategy going forward. The team, located in Berlin and also remotely, is focused on increasing the funds raised to help get to zero hunger by further developing the app to include new and innovative features, increasing the engagement of existing users and growing the user base through marketing and communication initiatives. As the user base has grown, there is a significant opportunity to increase funds raised from existing users and deliver an exceptional experience to build a long-term relationship with each supporter. ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: The Consultant, reporting to the Brand Marketing Manager for the ShareTheMeal initiative, is expected to: •Support in bringing ShareTheMeal brand marketing campaigns to life: oSupport in bringing ShareTheMeal brand marketing campaigns to life: o Devising, planning, executing and evaluating STM brand marketing campaigns, which increase awareness and raise vital funds for WFP during this critical period. Key campaigns include the End of the Year and Ramadan. oDocument projects, related learnings and results on internal knowledge management system. •Research campaign-related best-practices by relevant players in the non-profit and mobile ecosystem. •Develop new creative ideas to address and activate prospective as well as current app users. • Draw on previous data and insights to develop highly effective fundraising creatives for digital channels in coordination with the content and design team. •Regular analysis of paid ads performance and using learnings to inform the process of new content creation. •Prepare briefings for creative content for our tactical campaigns on paid ads. •Document projects, related learnings. and results on internal knowledge management system. • Develop new creative ideas to address and activate prospective as well as current app users. •Regularly review and localize campaign materials and content to AR. •Support the brand marketing lead and the head of marketing as required. DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT: •The tactical campaigns on paid ads are prepared and executed in a timely manner and to high quality standards •The brand marketing campaigns are prepared and executed in a timely manner and to high quality standards •Impact of the campaign is measured and documented; reports are saved on the internal knowledge base •Regular updates on social media influencer management are prepared and documented. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Education: Bachelor’s degree Experience: 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in marketing, social media management, project management, journalism, or communication Knowledge & Skills: •Project management skills: Ability to plan ahead, anticipate requirements, problems and obstacles, to juggle competing priorities successfully, and to work to tight deadlines •Strong analytical abilities, both quantitative and qualitative •Ample experience with different social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and ideally Tik-Tok •Ability to create Instagram stories & posts •Ability to produce high-quality written materials, including graphically- based PowerPoint presentations as well as text documents •Ability to interact with managers with maturity and tact •Creative mindset •Mature judgment with strong interpersonal skills •Collaborative spirit able to liaise with a wide range of people at all levels and across different cultures and to act with credibility and diplomacy •Self-motivated and able to work with a high degree of autonomy •Hands-on mentality: Spotting problems and proposing solutions to them •Fully committed and motivated to achieve the aims of the World Food Programme Languages: In addition to a high proficiency in written and spoken English and Arabic, knowledge of a second UN language is a plus WFP LEADERSHIP FRAMEWORK WFP Leadership Framework guides to the common standards of behavior that guide HOW we work together to accomplish our mission.
