Opened in Spring 2024, Ellicottville Bake Shop has quickly become a community favorite, known for its fresh, delicious offerings and warm, inviting atmosphere. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for experienced Bakers and assistants to join our expanding team. REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience or training as a Baker, or similar role, demonstrated through a degree, certificate, apprenticeship, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Previous experience in bakery, restaurant, food service or a related role required.
  • Strong knowledge of food handling, preparation techniques, and food safety standards.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using kitchen equipment, particularly knives and baking tools.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • A passion for baking and a commitment to producing high-quality products.
  • A team player mindset, eager to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50pounds at times.
    The bakery is open 7 days a week. Pastry Chefs must be available for flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare a variety of artisan and traditional breads including rolls and specialty loaves according to established recipes and standards.
  • Scale, mix, shape, proof, and bake doughs with precision and consistency
  • Ensure that established standards on quality, uniformity, and aesthetic appeal are met.
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and best practices in food handling and preparation.
  • Utilize kitchen equipment and tools, including knives and mixers, to create high-quality pastries.
  • Contribute to the creation of new recipes and seasonal menu items.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pastry station and kitchen area.
  • Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies.
  • Collaborate with bakery team staff to ensure timely production during peak hours.
