Job Details: Breader Operator Location: Vicksburg Plant Department: Production Reports To: Production Supervisor / Line Supervisor Job Description Summary The Breader Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring breading application systems to ensure fresh product is coated accurately and consistently in accordance with quality, yield, and food safety standards. This position supports continuous product flow while maintaining compliance with Tyson policies and procedures in a fresh food manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Operate and monitor breading equipment according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) Ensure proper application and coverage of breading on fresh product Maintain appropriate breading levels and flow throughout production Monitor product quality, appearance, and yield and report deviations promptly Make minor adjustments to breading equipment to maintain optimal performance Remove excess buildup or clumping of breading to prevent quality issues or downtime Verify breading materials meet specifications and are used correctly Complete required production, quality, and ingredient usage documentation accurately Perform routine cleaning and sanitation tasks during and after production Work closely with Batter Operators, Production, QA, and Sanitation teams Follow all food safety, sanitation, hygiene, and allergen control procedures Comply with OSHA regulations and Tyson safety policies Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas Perform other duties as assigned Fresh Plant Environment Expectations Work directly with raw and fresh product Adhere to strict food safety, sanitation, allergen control, and contamination prevention standards Wear required PPE, including gloves, aprons, hairnets, and protective footwear Work in temperature-controlled environments with exposure to moisture and breading materials Education and Experience Requirements Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred Experience: Prior food production or ingredient-handling experience preferred Experience operating breading or coating equipment a plus Skills and Competencies Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn equipment operation Strong attention to detail, consistency, and quality Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Basic math and documentation skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong commitment to safety and food safety standards Physical Demands and Work Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift Ability to bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive motions Ability to lift and handle breading materials as required Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without assistance Ability to work in cold, wet, or humid conditions typical of a fresh plant environment Work Schedule Must be available to work assigned shifts Overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required based on production needs Safety and Compliance Commitment The Breader Operator is expected to maintain a safe work environment and strictly comply with Tyson policies, food safety requirements, OSHA regulations, and plant procedures. This role is critical to ensuring consistent product quality, yield control, and efficient production operations at the Vicksburg Plant.
