Job Details Level: Entry Job Location: Ballard Community Center - Seattle, WA 98107 Salary Range: $25.00 - $27.00 Hourly Job Category: Education Break Camp LEGO Instructor (Ballard Community Center) The Associated Recreation Council (ARC), in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation is hiring a Break Camp LEGO Instructor at Ballard Community Center. This Instructor will lead a group of youth between the ages of 5-7 building simple to complicated structures, vehicles and objects with Legos. The participants will learn the fundamental principles of engineering, enhance personal creativity and learn to collaborate with other students. Location: Ballard Community Center Pay Rate: $25.00-$27.00/ hour DOE Camp Schedule: February 17th to February 20th. The hours available for the instructor would be from 1:15pm – 4:45pm (prep time can be negotiated). Work dates are contingent on camps meeting the minimum enrollment Break Camp LEGO Instructor Requirements: Develop and deliver developmentally appropriate activity camp lesson plans/activities to kids ages 5-7 for a camp Maintain documentation on camp participants to ensure security and youth safety- including but not limited to sign in sheets, medical needs and parenting plans Use critical thinking to problem-solve and manage conflict Generate supply lists for each camp; there will be some class supply funds available Maintain camp appropriate professional appearance Daily set-up, take down and cleaning of space Break Camp LEGO Minimum Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older Prior youth programming experience required Must have demonstrated working experience working with families, community members and partners to foster positive relationships Benefits: Paid Sick and Safe Time (PSST) We are actively prescreening and interviewing for this role, so if this role is a good fit for you and you want to learn more about it, please apply now.
