Overview Humboldt Sawmill Company, LLC (HSC) is looking for experienced Breakdown Hoist Operator to join our Scotia, CA Planer team on Swing Shift (Mon-Fri, 3:30pm-12:00am). Responsibilities The Breakdown Hoist Operator breaks down units of lumber for grade to sort for Planer in a safe and productive manner. The key areas of focus for this position are as follows; Breaks down units of lumber for grade to sort for Planer in a safe and productive manner. Checks for rocks or other items that could damage planer knives and removes them as necessary. Checks for bad incoming lumber and removes as necessary. Keeps lumber straight going into feeder. Keeps infeed chain straight and clean. Pulls stickers when necessary. Keeps equipment and work area clean Other duties as assigned Qualifications High School diploma or general education degree (GED). Two to five years related sawmill / planer experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred Read, interpret, and understand documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals as well as instructions and memos Basic Algebra and Geometry Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in writing, oral, or diagram form Physical Requirements and Work Environment: The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Responsibilities

The Breakdown Hoist Operator is responsible for breaking down units of lumber for the planer in a safe and productive manner. They must also monitor incoming lumber for defects or debris to prevent equipment damage.
