Description Assembler/Finishers are responsible for construction and quality of a switchgear production and sub-assemblies. This position requires excellent communication skills, problem solving skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment Requirements PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES · Read, interpret, and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products · Operate forklift and/or spot for forklift driver · Utilize handheld and power tools such as screwdrivers and hand-drills · Work with Quality department to ensure the product meets quality standards · Keep the work area safe, neat, and clean · Perform 5S activities and maintain equipment · Perform work in a safe and healthy manner; ensuring there are no deviations to standard work instructions that could lead to quality, productivity or safety problems · Identify and communicate ideas to team leaders that support improving the team’s performance and the elimination of waste · Participate in process improvement activities · Support other assembly teams when required · Display professional conduct with customers and coworkers · Attend training sessions as needed or required TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT · Various hand tools · Cranes · Forklifts · Power tools · Hydraulic equipment · Air tools · Vacuum pumps · Ladders · Battery powered lifting equipment · Scissor lift EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity Ability to read tape measures Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical drawings Basic computer skills required Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools Good communication and teamwork skills Basic math skills PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands of this job include, but are not limited to, standing for long periods, occasionally lifting up to 60 pounds, required to walk, sit, use hands, fingers, and arms, reach with hands and arms, climb ladders, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. The employee must also be able to see in close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Job requires a moderate to heavy level of physical effort and being elevated to heights exceeding thirty feet. SAFETY REQUIREMENTS Safety requirements for an Assembler/Finisher include steel-toed boots, gloves (both general & cut), safety glasses, and harness.
