Description The supervisor is the active interface between management and the work force on the plant floor. Supervisors are result oriented, by scheduling workers, organizing and assigning tasks and measuring progress. Supervisors interact and communicate with others, coordinating activities and resources on the plant floor. Supervisors help ensure quality and safety for the product and employees. They work with minimum supervision. Supervisors can also train in all areas that they are supervising. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent A valid driver’s license Basic computer skills required Vocational education preferred Ability to read tape measures Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical drawings Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools Good communication and teamwork skills Basic math skills PHYSICAL JOB DEMANDS The physical demands of this job include, but are not limited to, standing for long periods, occasionally lifting up to 60 pounds, required to walk, sit, use hands, fingers, and arms, reach with hands and arms, climb ladders, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. The employee must also be able to see in close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Job requires a moderate to heavy level of physical effort and being elevated to heights exceeding thirty feet. SAFETY REQUIREMENTS Safety requirements for an Assembler/Finisher include steel-toed boots, gloves (both general & cut), safety glasses, and harness.
