We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring Afterschool Club Worker to join our team at Captain Ted’s Afterschool and Breakfast Club.
Hours:
7.30am - 9.00am (breakfast club).
Afterschool Club 3:00pm – 6:00pm, Monday to Friday (term-time)
Pay: National Minimum Wage
Location: Gosforth High Street
About the Role

You will be working with children aged 4–9 years old, supporting them in a fun, safe, and engaging environment after school. Duties will include:

  • Collecting children from local schools and walking them safely to the club
  • Dropping children off at local extra-curricular clubs when required
  • Supervising and supporting children during play and activities
  • Leading arts, crafts, and creative play sessions
  • Helping to organise games and outdoor play
  • Preparing and serving light snacks/food
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and friendships
  • Ensuring children are happy, safe, and cared for

About You

  • Passionate about working with children
  • Friendly, reliable, and responsible
  • A great communicator with a positive attitude
  • Happy to walk with and supervise children on school pick-ups/drop-offs
  • Basic food preparation skills (training can be provided)
  • DBS check is advantageous (support can be provided if needed)

This role would be ideal for a young person or someone at the start of their career in childcare, education, or playwork. Training and support will be provided.
