The Tru by Hilton Charlotte/Ayrsley is looking for friendly faces to prepare and serve our guests complimentary breakfast and excellent customer service. You will address guests’ queries and make sure that breakfast is fully-stocked, clean, and inviting. If you’re interesting in kickstarting your career in the hotel industry, we’d like to meet you. Ultimately, you will help to ensure a pleasant and comfortable experience for our guests during their stay with us.

SUMMARY

Under general supervision, the Breakfast Attendant is responsible for maintaining a clean and welcoming environment, ensuring that our guests enjoy the complimentary breakfast every morning. The Breakfast Attendant provides assistance to customers in a friendly, enthusiastic, professional, and timely manner in order to support the smooth operation of the hotel.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty to a satisfactory standard. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent GED preferred.
A minimum of one (1) year of experience serving, preferably in a hotel setting preferred but not required.
Outgoing personality, positive attitude and strong communication skills a must.
License/Certification: Must possess or be able to obtain any/all locally required licenses/certifications that relate to the job being performed such as training in local legislation regarding alcohol permits and rules. A valid driver’s license is preferred.
Language Skills: Ability to exercise excellent communication, organization, time management and listening skills. Fluency in a second language is an advantage.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to manage priorities and be able to adapt to meet the diverse needs of our guests.

Responsibilities
  1. Greeting guests with a warm, friendly smile. Serving guests in an attentive, courteous, and efficient manner.
  2. Clearing tables during and following service.
  3. Maintaining a thorough knowledge of food offerings.
  4. Remaining up to date on hotel amenities and offerings, both at the hotel and within the surrounding area.
  5. Ensuring breakfast area and table set-ups are complete while performing various side duties as assigned.
  6. Maintaining proper condition and cleanliness of dining areas and servicing equipment.
  7. Performing opening and closing procedures and ensuring completion of F&B checklist activities during each shift.
  8. Ensuring that utensils, plates, and dining supplies are kept stocked, tidy and clean.
  9. Knows the location of fire extinguishers and knows how to use them. Is committed to maintaining safety standards for both guests and staff.
  10. Communicating thoroughly with fellow teammates and leadership throughout shift.
  11. Ensuring overall guest satisfaction.
  12. Attending all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.
  13. Performing other duties as required within the scope of responsibility.
