ABOUT THE ROLE

Join the team at The Blue Poppy as a full-time Head Chef in Morningside. You will play a key role in delivering an exceptional dining experience for our customers through the creation and preparation of delicious, high-quality meals. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary talents and contribute to the success of our thriving suburban cafe. We are a Brunch oriented establishment, which means early starts and finishes with little to no overtime.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes from our menu according to established recipes and standards
  • Ensuring all dishes are presented to the highest standards
  • Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment
  • Collaborating with the kitchen team to deliver a seamless service
  • Adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Inventory management and ordering of supplies
  • What we’re looking for
  • Proven experience as a Chef or Cook (min 3 years) in a similar hospitality environment
  • Excellent culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Passion for creating innovative, high-quality dishes
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Demonstrated commitment to food safety and hygiene standards
  • Own transport (5:15am weekday starts, hard to get to by public transport)
