CREDENTIALS REQUIRED

· Food Handlers Certificate, Smart Serve.
· Must be of legal age to mix and serve alcoholic beverages
· Experience: 1 month to 1 year.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE SERVING SKILLS:

· Serve food and beverages,
· General plate service
· Present bills to customers and accept payment in cash, credit or debit cards, room billings or vouchers
· Describe menu items including daily specials for customers. Advise on menu selections
· Wine and Stewarding/Serving Skills: Describe and advise on wine selection; present, open, pour and serve wine in appropriate wine glassware.
· Maintain a clean working environment
· Wash and put away glassware
· Determine levels of guests alcohol consumption and make appropriate calls, document any issues with guests
· Opens or closes dining room (and bar depending on scheduled shift)
· Insuring proper stock levels.
· Cleaning of glass washer and ensuring proper chemicals are utilized, PH testing as needed

ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

· Suggestive selling and upselling
· Ensure all orders are taken and ordered correctly
· Be alert and attentive to all guest requests
· Staying up to date on current menu selections
· Aware of the kitchen running low on items and communicate to all staff
· Properly open pour and serve wine at the table
· Customer service oriented;
· Address customers complaints or concerns;
· Assist customers with special needs;
· Enforce provincial/territorial liquor legislation and regulations;
· Balance cash and record sales;
· Clear and clean tables, trays and chairs;
· Load bus pans and trays; Set tables;
· Replenish condiments and other supplies at tables and serving areas; Replace linen.
· Essential Skills: Reading text;

  • Have knowledge of hotel fire and safety procedures.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service at all times.
  • Handle guest enquiries.
