The Holiday Inn Buffet Breakfast Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the hotel’s breakfast buffet service, ensuring operations run efficiently and guests have a positive dining experience. This position leads the buffet team, manages food preparation and presentation, maintains strict cleanliness and safety standards, and supports Holiday Inn’s mission of warm, dependable hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
· Guest Service Excellence: Welcome guests to the buffet, answer questions about food items, and quickly resolve any concerns or requests. Uphold a standard of courtesy and attentiveness, ensuring every guest enjoys a pleasant, seamless buffet experience.
· Buffet Operations: Oversee the preparation, setup, and replenishment of all buffet items. Work with kitchen staff to keep the buffet fully stocked with fresh, appealing selections throughout service hours. Monitor inventory of all buffet foods, beverages, and service supplies, coordinating with purchasing as needed.
· Quality Assurance: Regularly check the buffet for food quality, presentation, and temperature. Ensure all offerings meet Holiday Inn’s standards and comply with local health regulations.
· Cleanliness and Sanitation: Enforce rigorous cleaning routines for the buffet area, guest seating, and service stations. Make certain staff follow hygiene protocols, including proper handwashing and sanitation of surfaces. Conduct regular inspections for compliance and address any issues promptly.
· Staff Training: Provide onboarding and continuous training for buffet attendants on food safety, service standards, and Holiday Inn brand expectations. Encourage skill development and ongoing improvement.
Required Skills and Qualifications
· Experience: Previous experience supervising buffet or self-service food operations in a hotel, restaurant, or hospitality setting is preferred.
· Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in hospitality or culinary arts is a plus.
· Leadership: Strong team leadership, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
· Service Orientation: Excellent communication and people skills, with a focus on delivering outstanding guest service.
· Food Safety: Solid knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices; food handler certifications are advantageous.
· Attention to Detail: Consistent diligence in maintaining food quality, safety, and service standards.
· Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 30 pounds, and handle the fast-paced buffet environment. Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
· Technology: Comfort with point-of-sale systems and inventory management tools.
· Problem Solving: Resourceful and calm under pressure, able to resolve issues and adapt to changing situations quickly.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
