PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

As Food & Beverage Supervisor, your core responsibility is to ensure each guest enjoys an exceptional dining experience across all service areas. You will lead by example in delivering friendly, efficient, and professional service while supporting the team in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest satisfaction. You will also help maximise sales opportunities and ensure seamless day-to-day operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Service Excellence

  • Deliver high-quality service during breakfast, lunch, dinner, and bar service.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of menus, specials, wine lists, and ingredients to confidently assist guests with queries or recommendations.
  • Take guest orders accurately and efficiently, serving food and drinks in line with brand standards.
  • Ensure mise en place is prepared, service points are stocked, and tables are cleaned, laid, and reset correctly.
  • Maintain a polished, professional dining environment including glassware, silverware, and table presentation.
  • Greet guests warmly using their name where possible and provide a fond farewell to encourage return visits.

Operational Support

  • Assist with managing daily restaurant, lounge, bar, and meeting room service operations.
  • Respond to guest complaints or issues promptly and courteously, escalating to the duty manager where necessary.
  • Record and manage lost property and follow all procedures accurately.
  • Monitor stock levels of condiments, crockery, cutlery, and other service items.
  • Help with room service delivery and meeting room setups when required.

Sales & Upselling

  • Actively upsell menu items including beverages, sides, desserts, and specials to increase average spend per guest.
  • Encourage the team to meet upselling goals and deliver great product knowledge.
  • Promote hotel services and facilities to guests whenever appropriate.

Team Leadership & Training

  • Provide direct support to managers and act as a role model for team members.
  • Assist in onboarding and training new food and beverage staff.
  • Reinforce company SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and best practices during shifts.
  • Participate in daily “15-minute” team training sessions and ensure knowledge retention.

Flexibility & Teamwork

  • Be adaptable and willing to support any department in the hotel as needed.
  • Perform duties across all F&B outlets (restaurant, bar, lounge, banqueting, room service) as required by business levels.
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings, training sessions, appraisals, and job chats.
  • Support the achievement of high inspection standards from AA, RAC, Excellence in Tourism, and other relevant bodies.
