We’re currently looking for a Breaking News Writer to join the CNN Breaking/Live News Team and help cover history!
CNN’s Breaking/Live News Team is across the biggest, most relevant, and engaging stories around the globe while focusing on creating a dynamic live experience for our readers. Our team of editors and writers jump on everything, from major weather disasters and announcements from world leaders to the Olympics, international elections, notable trials and covering the war in Ukraine. We follow the most significant stories in real time and across multiple time zones. This team has an insatiable appetite for breaking news and chasing fast-moving stories.

YOUR ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES…

• Writing real-time breaking news posts and monitoring multiple breaking events for CNN’s live updates platform. No story is too big or too small.
• Pitching stories and collaborating with team members on daily news priorities and future live stories.
• Tracking constantly changing and emerging newsmakers and fast-moving storylines.
• Working quickly to familiarise yourself with the major players in any breaking story.
• Coordinating with newsgathering partners from around the globe, and working closely with the London based Breaking News Editor.
