Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

These assistant management positions don’t come up often!
You will be an integral part of a small, effective & multi-cultural team, working side-by-side with an experienced Farm Manager to oversee and coordinate the daily operations at the Bony Mountain Breeder production Farm.
As the Breeder production Farm Assistant Manager (2IC), you will be a strong support to the Farm Manager with the operation of a 6-shed modern breeder production farm in south-east Queensland. This is a development role for future Farm Managers.
The position reports directly to the Farm Manager.

DUTIES

  • Assist the Farm Manager in the co-ordination of all farm activities for the achievement of short and long-term business objectives.
  • Ensure all tasks are undertaken in a safe manner.
  • Assist the Farm Manager to ensure appropriately trained staff are available for specialist tasks including egg grading, shed walks, fumigation etc.
  • Under the direction of the Farm Manager, undertake serological monitoring and ensure that all medications are administered as required and in the appropriate manner.
  • Ensure all farm administration duties are performed in accordance with Darwalla guidelines, including the completion of all relevant reports and documentation within specific time requirements.
  • Assist the Farm Manager to engage and lead a team of people.
  • On-call duties are required to monitor the farm - a mobile phone is provided.
