Description

The Brewery Maintenance Technician and Assistant is responsible for ensuring all brewery equipment, systems, and facilities are functioning efficiently and safely. This role also includes supporting brewing operations by assisting brewers with production tasks, cleaning, and other day-to-day operational needs.
This multifaceted role combines hands-on technical work with production support and customer-facing delivery tasks. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical background, attention to detail, and a hands-on approach to troubleshooting, repairs, and general upkeep.

Responsibilities

MAINTENANCE DUTIES:

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on brewery equipment (e.g., brewhouse, fermenters, glycol systems, packaging lines).
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues in brewing and packaging equipment.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and equipment records.
  • Source parts and liaise with vendors for equipment servicing or upgrades.
  • Ensure equipment is safe, clean, and compliant with health and safety standards.

BREWERY ASSISTANCE DUTIES:

  • Support brewers during production tasks (e.g., transferring beer, grain handling, mill operation).
  • Assist with CIP (Clean-in-Place) and sanitation procedures for tanks and lines.
  • Move raw materials, kegs, and packaged product as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the brewery floor and storage areas.
  • Help with packaging (e.g., keg washing, canning, bottling) as needed.

DRAYMAN (DELIVERY AND LOGISTICS) DUTIES:

  • Load and unload kegs, cases, and other packaged products for delivery to accounts.
  • Drive brewery delivery vehicle to local or regional accounts (bars, restaurants, retail).
  • Ensure accurate delivery paperwork and collect required signatures or payments.
  • Represent the brewery professionally and courteously at all customer locations.
  • Inspect and maintain delivery vehicle for cleanliness, safety, and routine upkeep.
  • Return empty kegs or products to the brewery and assist with restocking.
