OVERVIEW

AW Rail Services currently have a variety of roles available for experienced bricklayers to carry out various works across the Southeast..
You will be joining experienced teams with decades of experience working within the rail environment, carrying out such works as arch repairs, stitching, patch pointing, singles, re-casement, working on bridges, culverts and tunnels alongside many other line side buildings and structures. All for a wide range of client’s including some of the UK’s biggest Tier 1 contractors.
You’ll be bringing an excellent knowledge of these types of works across the rail infrastructure to complement our existing teams and diverse workforce. We have a strong emphasis on health & safety.
We are looking for operatives that can bring these qualities to our teams.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience in bricklaying or masonry is essential.
  • PTS or CSCS Card.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools related to masonry work.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality craftsmanship.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labour for extended periods.
  • Knowledge of safety practices in construction environments.
  • Previous experience working on roofs or with welding techniques is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • A valid driver’s licence may be required for travel to various job sites.

Responsibilities
  • Lay bricks, blocks, and stones according to specifications and plans.
  • Construct walls, arches, and other structures using masonry techniques.
  • Mix mortar and other bonding agents to ensure proper adhesion.
  • Use hand tools and power tools effectively for cutting, shaping, and finishing materials.
  • Perform repairs on existing masonry structures as needed.
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople such as carpenters and welders to complete projects.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and building codes.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment.
