JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled Brick Mason to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience in masonry work, including the ability to read blueprints and schematics, and will be responsible for constructing and repairing structures made of brick, block, and other materials. This role requires a strong understanding of construction techniques and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

SKILLS

  • Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools related to masonry work.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
  • Experience in renovation and restoration projects is a plus.
  • Familiarity with caulking techniques for weatherproofing structures.
  • Capability to operate heavy equipment safely when required.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee, organize, and schedule the daily activities of construction teams working in bricklaying, roofing, cement finishing, tilesetting, plastering, drywall installation, glazing, insulation, and painting, as well as crews handling the installation and servicing of prefabricated products in both residential and commercial projects.
  • Develop and implement methods to meet project timelines and coordinate tasks with other subcontractors to ensure seamless workflow.
  • Identify and resolve on-site issues, recommending solutions to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality standards.
  • Manage material and supply requisitions to ensure projects remain on track.
  • Provide training and guidance to workers on job responsibilities, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Support workforce development by recommending hiring decisions, promotions, and other personnel actions.
  • Track and report on work progress, ensuring project goals and quality benchmarks are achieved.
  • Potentially oversee and manage operations if running an independent business.
  • Supervise, coordinate, and mentor apprentices, helpers, and general labourers as needed.
