Description Job Purpose and Objectives: Responsible for the construction and repair of bridges, box culverts, and low-water crossings for Montgomery County. One year of related experience and/or training 3. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered Certifications / Licenses: 1. Class C Driver’s License 2. Ability to obtain a Class B Commercial Driver’s License or a Class A Commercial Driver’s License with a Tanker Endorsement within one year of hire Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: 1. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos 2. Knowledge of current road construction and maintenance practices 3. Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work 4. Ability to fulfill all duties with minimal supervision and to work independently 5. Cleans road or bridge surfaces and applies and rakes patching material Helps build, bolt and nail, align and set up forms for bridges and culverts Loads and unloads equipment and material from trucks Assists in concrete pouring and finishing Mixes bagged concrete Assists in the repair, maintenance, and erection of signs, guardrails, box culverts, and bridges Uses cutting torches and welders Fastens attachments to equipment Assists in painting bridges and guardrails Greases, oils, and performs minor repairs on equipment Uses hand tools such as a hammer, shovel, rake, chainsaw or other tools used to maintain right-of-way and bridges Enforces and maintains compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and ordinances Performs other duties as assigned or deemed necessary Complies with all organizational and departmental policies and procedures Operates all job-related equipment, machinery, tools, and other aids as required or needed Protects and maintains any confidential information you have access to, whether oral, written, or electronic
