Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Bridge EIT for our team based in Calgary, Alberta. This is an ideal opportunity for a young engineer looking to venture into the world of more complex projects and structural design.
The team you would be joining is a high-performing group, having delivered preliminary or detailed design for over 100 major structures over the past 15 years, with the core team members (drafting and engineering) having worked together for all of those designs. With over 15 design build/P3 pursuits and being teamed with the successful proponent for 7 of those pursuits, along with the design and construction of 7 conventionally delivered interchanges, the group you would be joining offers an enormous breadth of experience for you to either draw from or add to. With the current push for infrastructure development in North America, particularly in rail and bus transit, this job would provide an enormous opportunity to work on community-changing projects that don’t require relocation.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering + 2 years experience in bridge design
  • Registered as EIT. with APEGA or eligible
  • Experience working with either bridge rehabilitation or new bridge construction – is this requirement mandatory?
  • Experience with industry standard structural analysis and design software such as SAP2000, MIDAS, and STAAD PRO.

  • Ideally PEng with APEGA
  • Familiarity with Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code and Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors design and construction requirements.
  • Experience in working with AASHTO LRFD and/or Eurocodes.
  • Experience as the engineer of record on previous projects
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiating, problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Experience on design projects exceeding $50M in construction value.
