TO BE CONSIDERED FOR OUR BRIDGE ENGINEER POSITION, WE ARE SEEKING CANDIDATES WHO MEET THE FOLLOWING BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 1-2 years of practical experience in the structural inspection and design of bridges using IDOT standards. Candidates with greater experience are encouraged to apply as well. CDOT and Tollway experience is a plus.
  • Holder of a valid drivers license.
  • Existing status as an IDOT NBIS Bridge Inspection Team Leader or Program Manager would be considered a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with professional engineers to perform structural design with a concentration on Illinois DOT Bridge structures.
  • Assist in bridge inspections and serve as a team member on a variety of bridge inspection projects.
  • Prepare written bridge inspection reports to document observed findings, recommendations, and corrective actions required.
  • Coordinate with project managers and engineers to ensure that all inspections are conducted in a timely, safe, and efficient manner.
  • Be part of a team that offers mentoring, training and development of junior staff
