Your Opportunity + Impact The Bridge Inspection Team Assistant is responsible for assisting with NBIS highway bridge inspections and other structure condition inspections. This position will include on-the-job training under the guidance of a certified NBIS Bridge Inspection Team Leader. Some background in bridge inspection and maintenance is desirable but not required. Key Responsibilities Assist the Team Leader in conducting field inspections of bridges, culverts, and related structures. Identify and document signs of structural deterioration, damage, or deficiencies caused by natural or accidental events. Collect, record, and organize inspection data accurately while on site. Enter inspection findings into WIGINS software during field operations. Support overall inspection workflow to ensure thorough, timely, and compliant reporting. Education and Experience Education: Two-year technical associate degree. Experience: Zero (0) to two (2) + years of experience with bridge inspection. Microsoft, Outlook, Excel, and Word experience. Experience reading technical drawings. Licensure/Certification: Valid NC driver’s license. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree Working knowledge of NCDOT WIGINS Bridge Inspection Software. Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation. Responsibilities
