Job Description The AECOM Indiana Transportation team is seeking a Bridge Project Design Engineer III to join our growing structural and transportation group located in Indianapolis, IN. This role will support the planning, analysis, design, and rehabilitation of bridges and related transportation structures across a variety of public-sector projects. Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Perform structural analysis and design of bridges and transportation structures in accordance with AASHTO and state DOT standards Prepare engineering calculations, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports Assist in the development of rehabilitation and maintenance recommendations for existing structures Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including roadway, geotechnical, and construction engineering staff Review contractor submittals and provide construction support services as needed Ensure quality control and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and agency guidelines Develop and implement innovative bridge design solutions to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness Participate in the preparation of proposals and presentations for potential projects Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on bridge engineering projects Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in bridge engineering and design Collaborate with environmental specialists to ensure bridge designs meet sustainability and ecological requirements Perform load rating analyses for new and existing bridges to determine their structural capacity Assist in the development of bridge management systems and maintenance strategies. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: BA/BS plus a minimum of 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education PE license in Indiana or ability to obtain a PE within 1 year. Ability to pass MVR background check Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master of Science or Master of Engineering) Experience with structural analysis software (e.g., MIDAS, Leap Bridge Concrete, or similar) Proficiency in CAD/BIM tools such as OpenRoads/OpenBridge Designer or MicroStation Strong understanding of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications Excellent written and verbal communication skills Familiarity with DOT design procedures and standards Additional Information All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
