Location: Wandsworth
Hours: Monday – Thursday, 8:00pm – 8:00am
Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled nurse (or experienced carer) who is competent in British Sign Language (BSL) and experienced in tracheostomy and ventilator care. The role involves supporting an individual who is ventilated 24/7, ensuring safe and attentive overnight care.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality nursing or personal care throughout the night.
  • Deliver safe tracheostomy and ventilator management, including monitoring and responding to any issues.
  • Communicate effectively using British Sign Language to ensure the individual’s needs are understood and met.
  • Work collaboratively with an on-site backup carer who will be sleeping in the accommodation.
  • Maintain accurate care records and follow established care plans.
  • Ensure a calm, respectful, and supportive environment at all times.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse qualification (or experienced carer with proven competency in tracheostomy/ventilator care).
  • Proficiency in British Sign Language (essential).
  • Demonstrated experience in tracheostomy and ventilator management.
  • Ability to work independently and respond effectively in emergencies.
  • A caring, professional, and patient-centred approach.

Schedule:

  • Night shifts: Monday to Thursday, 8:00pm – 8:00am.
  • Accommodation provided, with a carer present on-site as backup.
