Great Plains Communications is looking for an experienced Broadband Technician in Elkhorn/Omaha Metro area. Duties include but are not limited to: Will perform installation and repair of Internet, phone and tv services to business and residential customers via coax and fiber systems. Experience with maintaining mainline coax systems is highly valued for this position. Promotes sale of company products and services along with providing an excellent customer experience. Job Duties Ability to climb ladders Ability to dig with hand tools if necessary. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as necessary. Ability to operate a bucket truck as necessary. Ability to install/repair internet and phone services. Ability to interpret staking sheets maps and work orders. Ability to complete staking sheets and completion notices. Ability to drive GPC vehicles daily and possess valid driver’s license. Ability to operate computer daily. Ability to splice cable as necessary. Ability to work non-standard hours, nights, weekends, and holidays. Ability to travel for work or training as necessary, (minimal). Ability to be subject to call outs when needed after normal working hours. Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance. Ability to maneuver in crawl spaces and in attic spaces when needed. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES · Knowledge of basic electronics · Knowledge of testing equipment, ex. EXFO Light meter, and volt ohm meters · Fiber optic fusion splicer abilities, will train · Provisioning abilities, will train · Understanding of installation and repair, business and residential · Ability to interpret staking sheets, maps, work orders, cable counts, etc. · Typing skills · Trouble shooting skills · Valid driver’s license · Communication skills - written and verbal · Customer relations skills · Basic computer skills · Knowledge of repair and installation of Internet/High Speed services EDUCATION DESIRED High school graduate or equivalent EXPERIENCE DESIRED 1-7 Years Competitive wage and benefits provided.
