  The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking a Budget and Finance Analyst to provide a critical role within Corporate Services and Infrastructure.

• Relevant qualification in policy, strategy or finance is desirable.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Budget and Finance Analyst, as a contributor in the business partnership model, provides financial advisory support to the Groups and other key stakeholders in both responsible and strategic financial management.

Some of your duties will include:

• Participate in the business partnering model ensuring all staff are supported with finance and procurement related activities.
• Support the financial management policy and compliance processes through overseeing specific month end processes including accruals, month end journals, pre-payments, capital reports and significant payments.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with all internal stakeholders and other units to assist with the development and implementation of Group and departmental initiatives.

• Strong conceptual, analytical and research skills with an aptitude for problem solving in the context of financial and budget resource management
