This position ensures that all budgetary activities align with organizational goals and comply with regulatory requirements, particularly in government contracting environments. The Budget Coordinator is responsible for preparing detailed financial reports, analyzing budget variances, and coordinating sponsorship and expense tracking to maintain fiscal responsibility. By implementing and monitoring internal controls, this role safeguards the organization's financial integrity and supports strategic decision-making. Ultimately, the Budget Coordinator facilitates efficient allocation of resources and supports the financial management team to optimize budget performance across departments. Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. * Proven experience in budget coordination, financial reporting, or financial management roles. * Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, including advanced functions and data analysis tools. * Knowledge of government contracting regulations and compliance requirements. * Experience with internal controls and purchase order processing. Preferred Qualifications: * Certification in budgeting or financial management (e.g., Certified Government Financial Manager, Certified Public Accountant). * Experience working within a government or public sector financial environment. * Familiarity with financial management software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. * Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities: * Develop, monitor, and manage budgets in collaboration with various departments to ensure alignment with organizational objectives. * Prepare and analyze financial and expense reports, identifying trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for cost savings. * Coordinate sponsorship tracking and reporting to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and organizational policies. * Maintain and enforce internal controls related to budgeting, purchase orders, and financial transactions to mitigate risks. * Support government contracting requirements by ensuring all budgetary activities meet regulatory standards and reporting guidelines. * Utilize Microsoft Excel and other financial management tools to compile data, create forecasts, and generate comprehensive budget reports. * Collaborate with procurement and finance teams to process purchase orders and verify expense documentation. * Communicate budget updates and financial insights to stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making. Skills: The Budget Coordinator uses sponsorship management skills daily to track and report on funding sources, ensuring compliance and accurate allocation. Expense and financial reporting skills are essential for preparing detailed reports that inform leadership decisions and identify budget variances. Budget analytical skills enable the coordinator to assess financial data critically, forecast future budget needs, and recommend adjustments. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is leveraged to manipulate large datasets, create pivot tables, and automate reporting processes, enhancing efficiency. Knowledge of internal controls and purchase order procedures ensures that all financial transactions are properly authorized and documented, maintaining organizational accountability and compliance with government contracting standards.
