JOB SUMMARY:

To assist in the maintenance of accurate records to ensure adherence to district policies; to verify state and district policy compliance; and to assist in compiling budget data to build the district budget.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

To be eligible for this position, an applicant must meet the following required qualifications. Verification of these required qualifications is necessary.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Three years of accounting experience

Preferred Qualifications :

It is preferred that the applicant possess the following preferred qualifications; however, the following qualifications are not required to be eligible for this position.

  • Associate’s or Bachelors Degree in accounting preferred

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in compiling budget data to build the district budget
  • Review and reconcile bank cards
  • Input initial appropriate balances into the district database (Infinite Visions) to provide accurate budget allocations
  • Maintain cash deposits (i.e. revolving checking accounts, petty cash, UPS funds, etc) to provide emergency reimbursements and mandatory prepayments
  • Monitor account balances and codes to ensure adequate fund balances and the appropriate use of funds
  • Provide financial information regarding account deficits to convey information necessary for administrative decision making
  • Research budget history to provide financial data and verification of account balances
  • Respond to various requests from district personnel to assist them regarding site funding, purchase orders, budget history, etc to convey information and ensure adherence to proper budget procedures
  • Assist in the maintenance of accurate records to ensure adherence to district policies
  • Transfer funds to and from accounts to maintain adequate balances
  • Compile information and prepare journal entries for all postage, bulk mail and printing charges; prepare invoices for postage charges not associated with M&O accounts
  • Approve M & O requisitions to ensure proper accounts are charged, adequate fund availability and sufficient information is included within district and budget guidelines according to auditor general’s chart of accounts
  • Monitor payroll deductions for transportation CDLs and physicals
  • Verify state and district policy compliance
  • Regular and on-time attendance required
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the department
  • Order supplies for financial services department
  • Provide back-up for TimeClock Plus editing
  • Assists with other assigned duties as appropriate to the area of assignment and Mesa Public Schools.
