Description
The position requires strong business development, sales, market strategy, relationship management, and bid support skills. The Builder Development Manager will work closely with company leaders and internal teams to identify opportunities, assist with proposals and takeoffs, and support the overall sales and marketing efforts of IBS Lighting and FS Blinds. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Identify, pursue, and develop new business opportunities for IBS Lighting and FS Blinds in the Austin and San Antonio markets. * Build and maintain relationships with builders, developers, contractors, commercial clients, and other prospective customers. * Develop and execute business development strategies to increase market share for both IBS Lighting and FS Blinds. * Promote IBS Lighting products and FS Blinds window covering solutions to prospective customers. * Assist with sales and marketing efforts in collaboration with company leadership. * Support the preparation of takeoffs, bids, estimates, and proposals for multifamily, single-family builder, commercial, and other customer opportunities. * Partner with internal sales, operations, estimating, and leadership teams to ensure customer needs are understood and addressed. * Research market trends, competitor activity, and potential customer opportunities in assigned markets. * Coordinate with company leaders regarding pricing, bid strategy, customer expectations, and project opportunities. * Track and communicate new business activity, customer prospects, and sales pipeline updates. * Represent IBS Lighting and FS Blinds professionally in customer meetings, networking opportunities, trade events, and other business development activities. * Maintain knowledge of current customers, assigned prospects, and market opportunities to avoid conflicts or overlap with existing accounts. * Perform other duties as assigned. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES * Strong sales, business development, and relationship-building skills. * Ability to identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to convert prospects into customers. * Knowledge of builder, multifamily, commercial, or construction-related sales preferred. * Ability to understand project scopes, bids, takeoffs, and customer requirements. * Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. * Ability to work collaboratively with leadership, sales teams, estimators, and operations teams. * Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple prospects, bids, and priorities. * Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in the field and in assigned markets. * Professional judgment and discretion when representing both companies. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn company systems. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE * High school diploma or equivalent required. * Prior experience in sales, business development, builder sales, construction sales, lighting, window coverings, or a related industry preferred. * Experience working with builders, contractors, developers, or multifamily customers strongly preferred. * Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered. WORK ENVIRONMENT This position may require work in an office setting, customer locations, construction or builder sites, and field-based sales environments. The role may require travel throughout the Austin and San Antonio markets. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS * Ability to sit, stand, walk, and drive for business-related purposes. * Ability to attend customer meetings, site visits, and market events. * Ability to use a computer, phone, and other standard office equipment. * Ability to occasionally visit construction or project sites, which may require walking on uneven surfaces.
