The opportunity As a valued member of our team, you will work with our customers to ensure Council’s compliance with the Building Act 2004. Your focus will be Onsite Building Warrant of Fitness audits, investigation of unconsented building work and the monitoring of councils residential swimming pool barrier register and inspection schedule. To set you up for success, you’ll have At least 3 years compliance or enforcement experience. A thorough knowledge of the NZ Building Code, Building Regulations and the Building Act 2004. Experience with preparing Building Act enforcement notices. Sound knowledge of building construction. Sound computer skills. A current driver’s licence. Desirable qualifications include: Building industry qualification eg. NZQA Level 5 in building or plumbing. A relevant professional or tertiary qualification under Regulation 18 (IANZ) eg. National Diploma in Building Control Surveying, Bachelor of Applied Technology – Building, Bachelor of Building Science, National Diploma in Construction Management.
