Job Details Job Location: Lemont Park District - Lemont, IL 60439 Position Type: Part - Time Salary Range: $15.00 - $19.84 Hourly Job Shift: Variety of Shifts Job Category: Facilities The Part Time Building Attendant will be responsible for the overall cleanliness of all areas of the facility to ensure a positive member experience. Ability to make a difference, take pride in their work and be able to work with minimal supervision. Position hours will vary throughout the week and weekend shifts. Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities: Perform routine cleaning and sanitizing of restrooms, offices, meeting rooms, public areas, locker rooms and preschool rooms. This includes but is not limited to sweeping and mopping hard surface floors, vacuuming carpets, washing walls, windows, counter tops, appliances, and fixtures in addition to trash removal. Room set up and teardown of all equipment needed for program and event space by facility and recreation staff. Including lifting and arranging chairs and tables, court set up and moving supplies. Replenish classroom and restroom supplies (e.g., paper towels, soap, etc.) to ensure adequate quantities for daily use. Report any equipment or areas that may have deficiencies or need repair to the supervisor. Secure all doors and windows, turn off lights and set alarms when assigned. Assist with seasonal maintenance including stripping and waxing floors, moving furniture, painting, and snow removal if necessary. Support the District’s safety initiative including adhering to policies and procedures, performing your job in a safe manner, attending required training, seeking additional training as needed, promptly reporting accidents/incidents, and proactively addressing hazards in the workplace. Performs other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications: Applicants must be 18 years of age or older in compliance with Illinois Child Labor Laws and the Fair Labor Standards Act. High School Graduate or Equivalent. Valid Illinois Drivers License. Ability to follow direction and work independently. CPR/AED/First Aid certified within 90 days of hire. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. with assistance. Work Environment: Employee’s general work area indoors, however, may be required to work outside during various weather conditions, including rain, cold and hot temperatures. Employee may be exposed to noise distractions from employees, participants, or equipment operation in adjacent work areas. Occasionally required to stand, talk, hear, walk, sit, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and smell. Frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibration. Employee may be exposed to fumes from cleaning chemicals.
