SHAPE SAFER, SMARTER BUILDINGS ACROSS NORTH YORKSHIRE

Are you a detail-driven professional with a class 2a or above qualification, who wants to make a real impact in the built environment? Do you thrive on variety, autonomy, and being part of a forward-thinking team? If so, this could be the ideal next step in your career.
We’re looking for a talented and motivated Building Control Surveyor to join the North Yorkshire Building Control Partnership (NYBCP) — the UK’s first and most established local authority building control partnership. Whether you’re an experienced surveyor or working towards qualification, we want to hear from you.

ABOUT US

At NYBCP, we’re proud to set the standard for modern, collaborative public sector building control. Representing North Yorkshire Council, we work with a wide range of residential, commercial and complex development projects — from historic renovations to sustainable new builds.
We don’t just ensure compliance with the Building Act 1984 — we promote safety, sustainability, accessibility, and great design. Join us, and you’ll be part of a respected, innovative and supportive team, delivering a vital service with pride.

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct site inspections and assess building plans to ensure full compliance with Building Regulations and associated legislation.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to clients, architects, and developers on compliance, technical standards, and best practices.
  • Lead or support enforcement actions and contribute to maintaining high standards of public safety.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure a professional, solution-focused service.
